Correctional Treatments

Restore your face to a natural appearance by removing unwanted filler.

How dissolving works

Filler dissolving is performed to correct overfilled areas, asymmetry, or any unwanted results from dermal fillers. It can also be used to address complications such as lumps, bumps, or allergic reactions.

Consultation
The process begins with a consultation to assess the need for dissolving the filler and to ensure any treatment is appropriate.

Injection
Hyaluronidase is injected into the area. This enzyme breaks down the hyaluronic acid, allowing the body to naturally absorb and remove it.

 Everything you need to know…

  • Yes, when performed by a qualified and experienced professional, filler dissolving is generally safe. However, like any procedure, it carries some risks, such as allergic reactions or infection.

  • Results from filler dissolving can usually be seen within 24 to 48 hours, with full effects appearing over the next few days as the filler breaks down and the area settles.

  • There may be some discomfort during the injections, but a topical anaesthetic can be applied to minimise pain. Some swelling and redness at the injection site are also common but usually resolve quickly.

  • Common side effects include redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site. These typically subside within a few days.

  • Hyaluronidase only works on hyaluronic acid-based fillers. It cannot dissolve other types of fillers, such as those made from calcium hydroxylapatite or poly-L-lactic acid.

  • Avoid alcohol, blood-thinning medications, and supplements like aspirin and ibuprofen a few days before the procedure to reduce the risk of bruising. Always follow your practitioner’s specific instructions.

  • Avoid touching or massaging the treated area, strenuous exercise, and exposure to heat (such as saunas) for at least 24-48 hours. Follow any additional aftercare instructions.
